Call for Conference Abstracts

Do you want to inspire others, spark interesting conversations, share your knowledge, experience or research on Quality and future trends? The Australian Organisation for Quality (AOQ) is hosting the 26th Asia Pacific Quality Organisation International Conference, in conjunction with AOQ’s own national Qualcon® 2020 Conference.

The Conference Theme

The selection of the conference theme – “The Future of Quality is NOW!”- recognises that 20% of the 21st Century is now behind us. The disruption of the past 20 years now makes more sense. Quality is being reinterpreted as a new generation embraces and applies Quality to new challenges.

We are faced with the challenge of keeping what’s useful from the past, developing new ways of applying Quality for the present, and striving to anticipate the future. For Quality Practitioners, understanding and applying Quality in this context is, and will increasingly become, our primary obsession if we are deliver value to our organisations and society.

This conference is a unique opportunity to reflect on where we have come to, analyse current successes and failures, and reposition our thinking for the future.

The Conference Program

The conference program is designed to encourage a high level of engagement and interaction between Quality professionals from the Asia Pacific region, and beyond. The program offers a range of learning and engagement opportunities that will appeal to every delegate. This includes international keynote speakers, discussion panels, concurrent presentations (with a choice of conventional presentations or mini 3-minute Quality snippet), interactive workshops, awards and competitions, as well as an exciting program structure designed to foster out-of-session discussions and the development of personal relationships.

We Are Now Calling For Abstracts For The Presentation Sessions

Speakers have two presentation choices:

1. 20-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes follow-up questions on one of the conference topics:
   • Topic 1: Quality as a business strategy
   • Topic 2: Quality in the digital age
   • Topic 3: Future of quality in international trade
   • Topic 4: Future of quality in risk & governance
   • Topic 5: Future of business excellence
   • Topic 6: When quality is not! (Failures of Quality, the learnings, and future challenges)
2. The short “3-minute quality snippet” stream (3mQS). This new innovation format for this APQO conference allows you to present a single idea, experience or learning relating to the conference theme using 3 slides in 3 minutes. It’s an ideal format for delegates to quickly learn from other’s experience. Conference Delegates will quickly develop a list of things they take home and apply straight away.

Abstract Requirements

• Abstracts must be submitted using the Conference Abstract Template provided
• Introduce the topic, explain the problem / main objective and methodology, and present the main findings or conclusions
• Explain the relevance to the conference theme of “Future of Quality is NOW!”
• 250 words maximum (50 words max for 3mQSs)

Submission Deadline: 24th April 2020

To be considered the submissions must be submitted to admin@aoq.net.au using the Conference Abstract Template prior to the submission deadline (24th April 2020).
